Chuck was the Number One Male Basenji in the U.S. in 1990, and is a dual American and Canadian Champion, owner/handled by Sue Gruber-Kite. He has been a prolific stud who has done a lot to improve the breed and has been brought out of retirement at the age of 9 to continue his winning ways! In May, 1996 he won the Veteran's Class at the Cincinnati Specialty. In June, 1996, he headed north and won the Basenji Club of Canada's National Specialty from the Veteran's Class!
We are Sue Gruber-Kite and Mike Kite. We have been showing and breeding for over 20 years and take great pride in our accomplishments. Chuck is not the only star at Klassic, he also has the privilege of sharing space with the first Brindle to win a specialty, first brindle to win the Hound Group in both the U.S. and Canada and the first brindle dual champion; noneother than Am/Cdn Ch Klassic's Eye of the Tiger (Tony). He also won an Award of Merit at the 1996 Basenji Club of Canada National Specialty. Tony has continued our tradition of producing sound Basenjis (both physically and mentally). His offspring have travelled to Canada and France and continue to make history wherever they go! With each generation, Klassic strives to improve on what we have done so far - the sky is the limit. His daughter "Cassy" (Kountry"s Striped Perfection) won Best Puppy In Match at the African Match held at the 1996 Basenji Club of America National Specialty.
